The MotoSport.com – Southwick MotoX-338 Fantasy Motocross Post Race Report

As the sand falls through the hour glass, champions are born. Congratulations Ryan Dungey on taking home your first 450 AMA Motocross Championship. Having done this during his rookie 450 season is an accomplishment in itself. Let’s hope the same momentum can be carried over into the MXdN and we can bring home the Chamberlain trophy. Go USA!
Ok so let us get back on track with the remaining rounds of the AMA Motocross Series. With Southwick in the books, we saw a few surprises and possibly a couple disappointments. First off, MXD had too much faith riding on John Dowd in respect to his previous finishes at the “Wick”. With him finishing 11/39 you can count on him going back to his typical “Hot” status for 2011. Another rider who slipped through and wasn’t talk about much coming into round 10 was Goerke. Coming back from injury we didn’t know what to expect from him. But with a little homework you could have found out that Goerke rides very well at Southwick, actually taking a moto win last year. Those who did choose “Beef” Goerke, paid out with a whopping 70 points. Not bad for a non-handicapped round. So with that said, that is why we say MotoXDream is a game of skill, because anybody can just pick 8 riders.
Here’s your breakdown of the top 3 Overall Team Managers. These guys are in the running for the Overall MXD Championship. Holding strong on top of the podium is DT101. I bet DT101 is feeling really comfortable atop his throne as he’s been there for quite some time. But inching closer and looking like he’s ready to pounce is Team62. I’m talking about Jason Thomas Professional AMA Motocross/Supercross Extraordinaire. Coming out of his semi retirement it seems that he’s putting the smack down here at MotoXDream. His Poker skills might get him out of trouble, but can his MXD picks the next 2 rounds get him to the top. Rounding out the podium and moving up in rank is bbmx545. Knocking a couple riders down the list he is also in the running for the title.
With the last 2 rounds being handicapped, we should see the top three overall Managers becoming more conservative, while giving the remaining Managers the final opportunity to take a risk in hopes of a big reward.
Speaking of Team USA, This will be an insert page that goes into the MXdN Program Magazine.

Tonight on MXTalkRadio.com – John Dowd, Blake Wharton, MotoXDream Fantasy Racing Speculation for Southwick
Right off the bat we've got John Dowd who races Southwick every year representing the Geritol crowd. Dowd did pretty killer for a guy in his upper 60's at Southwick in 2009, and we expect no less from the MX338 local for 2010. We'll talk with John about his preparation for the 'wick and how long he plans to keep this annual ritual up.
Next up we’ve got Geico Powersports Honda’s Blake Wharton checking in to chat about his season. Blake was on a travel day last week when we originally had him scheduled and we couldn't make it happen, but he has assured us that this will be the night. Anyway, Blake has been getting progressively faster as the season wears on, and his first moto podium at Unadilla is proof that Blake is a serious player. We’ll talk to Blake about his team and his strategy for the rest of the short AMA Motocross series.
